Sacramento to Bakersfield
The plan was to wake up at my usual time at 5:30am.
So of course I woke up at 2am. I was going to go back to sleep but realized I had not set up a web server that I’d need if my favorite person on Fiverr got back to me and was able to do the job I want to pay her to do.
20 minutes later the basic website was built and ready so I can give instructions while on the road.
Tried to go back to sleep. Still thinking of things. Eventually I dozed and got up around 5:20 when everyone else sounded like they were getting up earlier than they said.
We got on the road by around 7:15am which was earlier than expected.
Bob drove first shift, then me, than my mom, than Bob. I had not driven the RV before while towing a vehicle and it handled better than I expected.
Today was just the short drive from Sacramento to Bakersfield. Tomorrow we’ll head East, gain a bunch of elevation, and likely struggle with the wind we expect to drive through all the way into Texas (I think).
9 more days and we’ll be in Orlando. The change of scenery will be nice. Though my mother and Bob have been cooped up way worse than I have. Plus I’m not retired so I have a lot to keep myself occupied.
