This week has been more productive than I thought it would be.

Normally when I’ve traveled back to California, everything feels much more disrupted. There’s a different daytime schedule, I’m in a different place, there’s a different routine.

All of that has been true but I’ve adapted pretty well, to the point that a couple of times I had to double check that it was just last week I was on the road.

As the last pure blog post seems to indicate, I do miss writing down my day to day stuff. It’s just more better for me to do it occasionally than to have to every day.

Monday morning my mom and I drove up to Apple Hill, knowing it wouldn’t be that crowded. I was able to stop by High Hill Ranch and get donuts and apple fritters (most of which will go to my daughters). Then we drove down the street to Boa Vista and got apples, pears, and a stalk of brussels sprouts. We didn’t have any run ins with crazed maskless people. Everything went smoothly.

Then I had various meetings with folks. As of now I have 3 paying students for my workshop that starts in 2 weeks. I’ve had one work meeting with the first student already, a pre-sales meeting with another who then paid, and the third had joined my email list a couple weeks ago and just paid. I’m happy with 3. I’d prefer 4 but I’m not going to stress over it. I’ve reached out to some LinkedIn contacts.

The other project where I’m helping Trish with her workshop has now gotten more paid students than I expected. I’m expecting that she should be able to run a much larger workshop when she does it again in January. It’s exciting to see the response given the effort we’ve put into it so far.

I went through some writers block on my email list. However half way through my week I received some further inspiration in the form of better understanding how I help people. Most people hate marketing. With a passion. Like they’s rather crawl over broken glass than have to do marketing.

I like marketing. It’s fun. And I can help show people how fun it is (and how much easier it is if they just pay me to do it). So… I have that to write about. Among other things.

That’s it for now. Thanks for listening.
